Wet Alder Fly.

Hends BL254N size 14 hook. Semperfli 12/0 black classic waxed thread. Body of two peacock herls dyed magenta to give a bronze effect. Body is ribbed with fine dark copper wire for protection. Few fibres from a grouse body hackle for the wing. Indian hen natural black cape hackle. Comment – I believe many fish the alder dry but a wet version fished in the sub surface during a hatch can be effective. [Note – the post following this one has my hackle only version, replacing the fibre wing with the body hackle. Personally I would be more confident fishing that version]
