Sprite S2160 size 12 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 black. Body of two herls of dark peacock herl . I have used dyed black. Body ribbed with fine dark copper electric motor wire for protection. The original dressing did not use a ribbing. Two slips of Magpie wing feather (note the ‘sheen’). Hen black cape hackle. This fly was created by Alfred Ward, keeper of Malham Tarn, Yorkshire (1882-1927) and accounted for many wild brown trout.
