Sam Slick Nymph (variant).

Kamasan B120 size 12 hook. Textreme standard 8/0 chocolate thread. Golden pheasant tippets for tail. UNI-Floss bright yellow floss for rear of body with the rest being wrapped in a dubbing loop with Vicuña brown dubbing from their dry fly range. The whole body is ribbed with gold wire. Brown partridge hackle. Comment – this is my nymph version of the winged Sam Slick, a deadly lake pattern highly rated by the late Tom Stewart, whose dressings of flies used to feature in ‘Trout & Salmon’ magazine for many years.
