Sprite S2175 size 14 hook. Semperfli 12/0 Classic waxed thread black. Body of thread wrapped with copper Flashabou tinsel ribbed with black rabbit dubbing ‘touched’ with a very little of Spectra Rainbow olive (392) dubbing to give a little sparkle to the body. It is very important that the ribbing allows the copper tinsel body to show through. Grouse covert hackle. This is my version of one of Allen McGee’s modern prospecting soft hackles from his book, ‘Fly Fishing Soft-Hackles’ covering nymphs, emergers and dry flies.
