Moorish Brown.

Hends BL599 size 14 hook. Textreme standard 6/0 red thread. Body of thread lightly dubbed with a mix of Vicuña black & brown dubbing from their dry fly range. Brown Partridge hackle from the wing. Note – this is a ‘March Brown’ dressing recorded by James Chetham from Lancashire in his ‘Angler’s Vade Mecum’ publication dated 1681. The correct dubbing should be black wool taken from a sheep, apparently it has a brownish tinge, when looked at in light. With the dubbing the fly takes on a reddish brown colouring attractive to the trout.
