Hends BL254N size 14 hook. Danvilles Flymaster 6/0 charcoal thread. Few fibres of a cock pheasant tail feather dyed heron grey form the tail, body and wing case. The body is ribbed with fine gold wire which is wrapped several times to form a thorax. The wing case is formed by doubling over the pheasant tail fibres. Note – this is based on Frank Sawyer’s Grey Goose Nymph. He used herl from the wing feathers of a farmyard grey goose, which I don’t have. I think the dyed pheasant tail is a good substitute. Frank Sawyer did not use thread.
