Sprite S2160 size 14 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 dark brown. Body of two herls of peacock ribbed with a strand of the tying thread for protection. Mallard white satins for the wing. Hen ginger cape hackle. Note – this fly is over 200 years old and is an excellent fly for either river or lake. Sadly it is not fished as much now. However it is one of my favourites and if I am not sure what to use then the Coachman goes on – it rarely let’s me down.
