    Kamasan B830 2xl size 14 hook. Uni-thread 6/0 dark brown. Few hackle fibres for the tail. Body of dubbed Veniards Glister Sparkle dark olive followed by dubbed pink Glister sparkle. Hen pheasant back patch hackle. Comment – this is my version of the fly detailed on the’ Pan Fish on the Fly’ website, an American site with lots of interesting patterns for a perch fly fisher in the UK.

    Siberian Outpost Soft Hackle

    Kamasan B120 size 14 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 tan. Brown partridge hackle fibres for tail. Body of mink fur dubbed and ribbed with gold wire. Indian hen mottled brown saddle for hackle. Note – the saddle hackle is a substitute for brown partridge hackle. Can you tell the difference?

    Poacher ( variant)

    Kamasan B830 2xl size 10 hook. Uni-thread 6/0 black. Golden pheasant tippets dyed red for tail. Rear of body wrapped with Textreme 6;0 standard fluo yellow thread which is varnished with uv resin. Front of body wrapped with three natural peacock herls and ribbed with gold wire. Indian hen dark furnace hackle tied in long with three wraps. Comment – not sure if I should meddle with the poacher an old and very successful lake pattern, but we shall see.

    Pass Lake Fly

    Kamasan B830 size 10. Uni-thread 6/0 black. Few hackle fibres for tail. Body of suede black chenille. White calf tail fibres for the. wing. Indian hen saddle mottled brown hackle. Comment – a fly originating in Wisconsin in 1930s. Very successful. I believe it is still in use today although the black chenille body is now of peacock herl and the tail of golden pheasant tippets. A nice simple fly.

    Kamasan B120 size 12 hook. Uni-thread 6/0 black. Body of silver tinsel ribbed with silver wire then varnished. Indian Hen black cape hackle wrapped 3 times with single side of hackle. Comment – a Welsh fly that was fished on Teifi but was also tied up on a tube and caught a few sewin on the Towy.

    Kamasan B120 size 14 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 camel. Body of Hends natural hare dubbing (13). Thorax of Hends Spectra rusty brown peacock dubbing (35). Teal duck hackle. Comment – this is one for ‘across & down’.

    Guinea Fowl Olive Orange Wet.

    Kamasan B120 size 12 hook. Semperfli 12/0 black classic waxed thread. Few fibres of a cock pheasant tail feather for the tail then wrapped to form the body. Body ribbed with gold Krystal flash tinsel. Guinea fowl olive dyed hackle and an orange dyed hackle are tied in together.

    Welsh Partridge (wet).

    Kamasan B120 size 14 hook. Semperfli 12/0 black classic waxed thread. Few hackle fibres for tail. Body of Vicuña fiery claret dubbing from their Irish range. Body ribbed with gold wire then followed with a claret hen cape hackle, finishing off with a Brown Partridge hackle from the back. Comment – this fly was created by A Courtney Williams and was one of his favourites. He fished it dry on rivers and lakes but many have fished it as a wet pattern and done well. Years ago I used to fish Alwen Reservoir on Denbigh Moors and fished this fly with much success. [Note – the original dressing had a claret seal’s fur body ].

    Kamasan B830 size 12 hook. Danville’s Flymaster 6/0 red thread. Red marabou tail. Body of three natural peacock herls ribbed with fine red wire. 3mm gold tungsten bead thorax. Indian hen grizzle red cape hackle.
