Kamasan B180 size 6 low water salmon hook. Uni-thread 6/0 black. Silver tinsel& yellow floss tag. Tail Golden Pheasant topping feather with red hackle tied over. Black floss body ribbed with silver wire. Wing of grey squirrel tail dyed red over which is grey squirrel dyed yellow. Throat hackle of guinea fowl dyed blue. Head varnished with Veniards black cellire varnish.

Munro Killer Salmon Fly
Kamasan B180 size 6 low water salmon fly. Uni-thread 6/0 black. Gold wire tag. Body of UNI-Floss black ribbed with gold wire. Cock cape hot orange throat hackle covered with guinea fowl dyed blue hackle fibres. Wing of grey squirrel tail fibres dyed yellow with few grey squirrel tail fibres dyed black tied over the top. Head varnished with Veniards black cellire. Comment – the photograph in the background was taken of the River Thames a few miles from source. It will be many years since salmon ever swam there.

Blue Charm Salmon Fly.
Kamasan B180 size 8 low water salmon hook. Uni-thread 6/0 black. Silver tinsel tag with golden pheasant crest feather.. Body of black UNI-Floss ribbed with oval silver tinsel. Grey squirrel tail feather fibres for the wing. Few fibres from a blue hackle tied false.

Black Silver Tip.
Kamasan B180 size 6 low water salmon fly hook. Uni-thread 6/0 black. Silver tinsel for third of the body followed by UNI-Floss black for the remainder. Whole body ribbed with silver wire. Wing of sparsely tied black bucktail tied long. The head is varnished with Veniards black cellire varnish. Comment – this pattern originally tied in 1950 by Rocky Schulstad for Newfoundland salmon. Apparently it will catch salmon anywhere.

Black Maria.
Kamasan B180 low water salmon fly size 6. Uni-thread 6/0 black. Uni-Mylar silver tinsel tag followed by Golden Pheasant topping feather. Rear body Uni-Floss bright yellow, front body black floss. Body ribbed with silver wire. Sparsely tied wing of grey squirrel hair dyed black. Few fibres from a black cock cape for throat hackle. Head varnished with black cellire varnish.. Comment – it’s a few years since I tied one of these. An old pattern but it has its followers.
