Simple Caddis Nymph.
Hends BL 554 size 12 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 yellow. 3mm black tungsten bead. Body of Veniards olive Stickle Dub ribbed with a length of gold Krystal flash tinsel. Thorax of Veniards dark natural grey Stickle dub with a pinch of Lathkill’s black squirrel dub. The dressing is then ‘roughed up’ slightly.

Crawling Caddis.
Kamasan B830 size 12 hook. Semperfli 12/0 black classic waxed thread. Few hackle fibres for tail. Body of two peacock herls dyed magenta to give a bronze effect wrapped and ribbed with silver wire. Thorax of Vicuña Fluoro Yellow dubbing. Partridge neck hackle. Comment – my version of a dressing featured in, ‘Guide to Trout Flies’ by Bob Church. Don’t forget the older flies. They were catching fish years ago!

Hends BL550 size 12 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 dark brown. 3mm tungsten gold bead with few turns of lead wire in thorax region. Body of Jamieson’s of Shetland yellow ochre (230) spindrift wool twisted and wrapped tightly.Thorax of Veniards fiery brown Stickle dubbing, which is ‘roughed up’.

Sedge Wet.
Kamasan B120 size 14 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 tan. Rear of body is wrapped with one strand of Jamieson’s of Shetland Leprechaun (259) spindrift wool. Front is wrapped with Camel (141) spindrift wool. Whiting Brahma hen mottled grey dyed tan cape hackle. Note – the river in the photo is the upper reach of the River Thames – about 4 miles from its source.

Utah Killer Bug (variant).
Kamasan B420 size 14 hook. Danville’s Flymaster 6/0 fluo orange thread. Wrap hook with length of lead wire then cover it well with thread. Wrap one strand of Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift wool oyster (290) over hook. Finish off with thread head.

Kamasan B420 size 16 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 red and Semperfli 12/0 black waxed thread. Rear body red thread with remainder black. All body ribbed with fine red wire. Veniards green black peacock dub for thorax and white Antron yarn for breathing tubes.
