Hends BL554 size 12 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 dark brown. Toho 11/0 brown iris glass seed bead. Body of a few fibres of a cock pheasant tail feather dyed orange ribbed with hot orange wire. Two natural peacock herls tied in separately for thorax. Indian hen furnace cape hackle tied in reverse.

Body of a few fibres of a hen pheasant tail feather ribbed with fine dark copper wire. Collar of Hends Spectra copper dubbing (435). Hen pheasant hackle from the wing, tied in reverse.

Hends BL550 size 14 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 camel. 2.5mm gold tungsten bead. Body of Hends natural hare dubbing (13) ribbed with gold wire. Collar of Hends Hare plus dark orange dubbing (24). Indian hen Cree cape hackle tied in reverse.

Hends BL550 size 14 hook. UTC 70 rusty brown & black thread. 2.5mm copper tungsten bead. Body of rusty brown thread ribbed with fine red wire. Collar of black thread. All threaded area is covered with Sally Hansen’s, ‘Hard as Nails’ top coat. Hen pheasant hackle from the wing tied in reverse. Comment – this dressing is inspired by, Uke’s Brown Bug, a very successful American fly.

Hends BL599 size 14 hook. Semperfli 12/0 rust classic waxed thread. Grouse hackle from the wing tied in reverse. Body of Jamieson & Smith Shetland Wool 2 ply jumper, utilising one strand of Moorit (shade 4) twisted and wrapped tightly. The wool is tied off at the tail with a double whip finish. Note – this dressing was tied in the traditional way using the same materials on an earlier post.

Kamasan B120 size 14 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 fire orange. Body of thread wrapped with vicuña rainbow mix dubbing finished off with a double whipped thread tag. Partridge neck hackle tied in reverse.

Kamasan B420 size 12 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 yellow. 2.4mm brass bead coloured copper. Body of thread with a collar of Vicuña brown olive dubbing. Hen pheasant hackle from the wing tied in reverse.

Hends BL550 size 16 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 fire orange. Body of thread with a collar of one peacock herl dyed magenta. Whiting Brahma hen dyed medium dun cape hackle tied in reverse.
