This fly is really a dry fly used on the banks of the upper reaches of the River Severn. However I never fish the dry fly but when I used to fish the river Severn a few years ago I fished it as a wet fly using hen hackle instead of a cock. From memory the fish rather liked it! I have tied it on a Kamasan B405 size 16 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 camel. The body is dubbed mole fur ribbed with fine silver wire. Indian hen saddle ginger variant hackle and a few hackle fibres for the tail. The original dry fly had a cock ginger hackle and was created by a Ken Glover from Newtown, Wales.
