Kamasan B130 size 14 hook. Uni-thread 8/0 camel. Body of thread dubbed with the blue under fur then dubbed over with spiky rabbit fur. Whiting Brahma hen cream badger hackle. Comment – Yes it looks a ‘buggy’ mess but it catches fish. I originally tied this pattern many years ago when I used to fish a Pub stretch on the River Alwen in North Wales. This is the river where A. Courteney Williams of ‘Dictionary of Trout Flies’ fame fished the Grey Duster. The Grey Duster was very popular at the time but I am not a dry fly fisherman, much preferring a wet fly so I tied this pattern up, which has similarities with the Duster. It was and is very successful.
